The lunar calendar follows the orbit of the moon around the Earth and how it presents to those living on earth. This is different to the solar calendar which follows the orbit of the Earth around the sun.
At each time of the month the moon presents itself differently. It can present itself as a full moon, a quarter or half moon or as a total eclipse. In many Asian cultures each year is represented by an animal. This new year starting today is the year of the Pig. Welcome to the year of the Pig and happy lunar new year from the Here's How You Can Too! and Inspire Generations team.
