We celebrated the month of March with a few important events to us. Two of which are particularly close to our hearts - International Women’s Day and Harmony Day. The Here’s How You Can Too! children represent different cultures across 6 continents - Mei, Leo, Asmita are all from different Asian background; Kemba comes from Africa; Lucy has a mixed European heritage and Pedro can trace his roots back to South America. Harmony Day falls on 21st March in Australia and is all about celebrating cultural diversity and sharing experiences so we can live together peacefully. Schools, community groups and organisations across Australia host Harmony Day events, such as Taste of Harmony, with samples of food from different cultures. International Women’s Day celebrates the wonderful achievements of women across all areas of work and life. It helps to raise awareness of gender balance and equality. Here at Here’s How You Can Too! we are proud to have 4 out of 6 members who are female including Elayna – our Educator, Iliana – our Graphic Designer, Sarah – our Animator and Amanda – our Author. They are talented, creative and passionate women who are positive role models for our young girls and women readers out there. We would love to know what you or your community does to celebrate women and cultural diversity, so feel free to drop us a comment below.
